Our Savior lutheran Church
The foundation of our faith is "Jesus is Lord." This statement acknowledges Jesus as Savior; this Jesus accomplished through his life, death and resurrection. Salvation is a free gift of God's grace (unearned love).
We believe the Bible to be God's Word. In the Bible God has revealed what we need to know about God to live as the people of God today. This begins with knowing God took the initial and necessary steps toward our salvation in sending Jesus into the world as Savior. The Word calls us to God and equips us to be the people of God in our world today.
We are a sacramental church. Baptism, through water and the Word, brings us into our living relationship with God. Holy Communion is the Means of Grace through which God strengthens our faith and brings us into contact with Jesus in the bread and wine. We invite all baptized Christians to the table, although it is our practice to prepare the young people of our congregation in the spring of their fourth grade year for coming to the table for the first time.
We are a missional church. We take seriously the command of Jesus to take the news of the Gospel into all the world. We do this through acts of compassion, gifts of money and acts of sacrifice. We try to ask the question, "What does this have to do with mission?" of everything we do.
We are the people of God who gather as Our Savior Lutheran congregation who have a connection with the people of the God in all times and places. We are Christians who manifest their faith within the Lutheran tradition.
