Lois Eige - Organist
I have been the full time organist at Our Savior Lutheran for the last 27 years. I began studying piano at the age of 10 and later studied organ under my home church organist. My main profession and vocation was elementary teaching in second grade and reading. It is a joy to use my God given talents for planning the music for our services and leading God’s people in worship. I enjoy choosing great hymns of faith and scripture based contemporary songs of praise. My other interests include singing with the Heart of Iowa Sweet Adeline’s Chorus, facilitating the County Parkinson’s Support group, and participating in ADK, a teaching sorority.

Karen Adams
My father was a geophysicist working in oil exploration during the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s. I was born in Marianna, Florida but only lived there three months. Moved 32 times with my parents. Most of our moves occurred during my early childhood years. We lived in multiple towns in Alabama, Georgia, Montana, Colorado, Wyoming, Saskatchewan Canada, Alberta Canada, and Texas. Our long term homes were 5 years in Canada, 5 years in Billings and Miles City, Montana, and 53 years in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and almost 11 years to date in Iowa
Education:
I started grade school in a one room schoolhouse in Regina, Saskatchewan. There were many mornings I laid in bed waiting for the school bell to ring announcing that school was canceled. Started high school in Billings, Montana. Finished high school in Oklahoma City. Went to the University of Oklahoma where I received a B.S. in Microbiology. That started my career in the laboratory of Integris Baptist Medical Center of Oklahoma. Became the supervisor of the Microbiology and Virology Departments after three years in rotating through Hematology, Blood Bank and Chemistry. Microbiology was my passion and I stayed there until I retired from Baptist in 1990. I then went to work for Quest Laboratories to help establish a new referral lab in Oklahoma City and worked there 10 years. When I retired from Quest, I stayed off work for 6 months, put my house on the market, sold it and moved to Iowa to live near my family. However, I couldn’t stay out of the lab and took a part time position with Marshalltown Medical Center working in Microbiology and eventually at the UrgentCare Center at the south facility. Other activities:
I am an avid sewer and like to quilt. I love to read and learn. I think learning should go on for a lifetime. I am active in church. God has guided me most of my life. He gave me appreciation of learning, art, people, nature, music, the wonders of our universe and planet, and life.
